How do you think of the organ transplant for Japanese baby in the US?

The Japanese 1-year-old boy who have severe congenital heart disease will undergo organ transplantation in the US.
If the operation isn’t be performed, he will die fatally as soon.
The transplant hospitalization and surgery costs much money.
His parents and ground-parents raised more than a hundred million yen.

How do you think of that fact?
In addition, the law of organ transplant for children is not ready in Japan, and its system has not been established yet.
many children in this world are starving, lacking water, vaccine shortage.

More importantly,I think, there are many children to wait to receive organ from donor in the US.

It’s true that there are children in the U.S. who are in need of a transplant, but the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS, the non-profit organization that keeps the national waiting list) allows each transplant center to use up to 5% of the donated organs for transplants for foreign nationals, if they qualify.

I think that by showing the Japanese how our system works by saving a child’s life through transplantation in the U.S. it will encourage them in the future to say yes to donation once their system allows for children to donate organs.
